Introduction

Programme Objectives

  • To provide students with a systematic understanding of project management knowledge, and a critical awareness of current problems and/or new insights, much of which is at, or informed by, the forefront of current research, advanced scholarship and professional practice.
  • To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the techniques applicable to apply research to project management situations, both practical and theoretical.
  • To enable students to evaluate project management methodologies and develop critiques of them and, where appropriate, propose new hypotheses.

Career Opportunities

This is an ideal postgraduate programme for graduates who want to progress within generic project-based industries. It is ideally suited for relatively new graduates with restricted work experience and also highly experienced practitioners.

The programme may be followed to enhance existing career opportunities within many industrial sectors; as preparation for transfer from one industrial sector to another; or as preparation for further postgraduate study, i.e. Ph.D. Demand for managers who can demonstrate the skills to effectively manage projects continue to grow both nationally and internationally. Indeed, opportunities for a varied, well-paid, challenging and international career are significant.
