Job Title

Title: Business Intelligence- Solutions Lead -Cognos

Job Description

Leading in design, specification and selection of BI solutions, giving due consideration to functionality, data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather and document BI requirements
  • Analyze BI requirements and design/develop Cognos Reporting solutions to support standard reporting, Dashboard and self-service environment.
  • Will be the primary contact for questions about existing reports and Dashboards
  • Performance tuning to ensure reports function within acceptable parameters
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define the business layer and presentation layer of the BI Model that is business friendly and supports a self-service environment.
  • Analyze requirements and architect appropriate solutions, with detailed design documents
  • Review the current architecture and recommend changes as appropriate
  • Ensure documentation is up to date.
  • Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables.
  • Ensuring the product/solution architecture is scalable and extensible
  • Conduct technical / functional testing during the development process.
  • Coordinate and organize Customer demos, field tests and user acceptance testing.
  • Manage user access/permissions and provide end-user guidance

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Desired Skills and Competencies:
  • Bachelors degree with at least eight years of IS experience. Most recent experience must be Business Intelligence focused with at least five years of hands on experience in dashboard and report development using Cognos.
  • Strong communication skills, with prior experience in requirements gathering and working with SMEs and Stakeholders at various leadership levels.
  • Proficiency with Cognos 11 Analytics Product Suite (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio,
  • Framework Manager , Transformer, workspace advanced, Insight)
  • Hands on Framework Manager Dimensional Modeling, Transformer cube, Design and Development
  • Hands on Dashboard, and report development experience
  • Proven experience in scripting (Java Scripting/JQuery) to extend Cognos Capabilities
  • Excellent performance tuning and trouble shooting skills
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication
  • Strong grasp of relational
  • Database principles, OLTP, OLAP, 3NF, Star-Schema, NOSQL.
  • Knowledge of Big Data Software
  • Demonstrable experience in Dashboards, KPI, Scorecards, mobile, Operational and Business Intelligence Prior experience in leading a BI Team
  • Project Coordination/Project Management Skills
  • Good understanding of various SDLC models /testing methodologies.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and synthesizing skills
  • Enthusiastic and unprompted attitude for implementing and developing new technologies
  • Willingness to travel APAC wide¬†Strong knowledge on SDLC/Agile Methodology
