Programme Objectives

- Provide students with a foundation in the field of psychology

- Equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to progress to the higher diploma level

- Introduce the basic communication skills in psychology, self and personality development and human conduct

- It touches on the basic elements of psychology thus making the students ready for a smooth progression to the next level of studies

- Equip participants with applied psychology skills and to prepare them to embark on a psychology degree programme

- Focus mainly in particular fields of applied psychology that includes organisational psychology, counselling, leadership and development, marketing and business psychology

Assessment Methods

Modules will be assessed through a combination of coursework and examinations depending on the individual module objectives.


Students who successfully complete the programme will be awarded with the International Foundation Diploma in Psychology awarded by MDIS.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must be of age 16 and above and meet at least one of the following requirements:

- Obtained at least a Grade C6 in any 2 GCE 'O' Level subjects; or

- Obtained at least a Grade E in GCE 'A' Level subject and at least a Grade C6 in 1 'AO' Level subject; or

- Nitec / Higher Nitec and above; or

- International applicants must have completed 10 years formal education.

Language Proficiency

Applicants must meet at least one of the following English Language requirements:

- At least a C6 pass for English (EL1) at GCE O level or equivalent; or

- Achieve a minimum band of 5.5 in IELTS or equivalent; or

- Pass the English Entrance Test conducted by MDIS; or

- MDIS Professional Certificate in English
