This programme aims to produce graduates who are enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the rapidly changing discipline of computer security and networks, while able to uphold the legal, ethical and professional standards expected of a security and networks specialist.

Methods of Assessment

Teaching is delivered through a combination of lectures, small group and individual project work, lab-work, tutorials, computing skills and assignments that are integrated throughout the diploma programme. Students are assessed based on assignments, lab works, examinations and projects.

Entry Requirements

Year 3 entry

  • Relevant local/overseas polytechnic diplomas in Information Technology related disciplines with an entry requirement of 10 years of formal education OR
  • Higher National Diploma level qualifications in Information Technology related disciplines OR
  • Relevant PEIs qualifications (equivalent to 1st and 2nd year EDP) in areas related to Information Technology with entry requirement of 12 years of formal education

English Language Requirements

Applicants are required to possess at least one of the following:

  • C6 in English at GCE 'O' Levels
  • IELTS 6.0 (with no elements lower than 5.5)
  • Pass grade for MDIS Professional Certificate in English at Advanced Level
  • Pass the MDIS Placement Test at Advanced Level
