Master of Engineering in System Design and Management (MIT-SUTD Dual Masters' Programme)


Course Introduction
A unique collaboration of MIT and the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), the MIT-SUTD Dual Master s Program:
offers outstanding individuals the opportunity to maximize their potential in the fields of technology and design; and
provides successful applicants with full tuition scholarships, monthly stipends, round-trip airfare between the United States and Singapore, and overseas medical insurance.
Students first spend one year at MIT completing the System Design & Management (SDM) master of science degree in engineering and management. Next they spend one year at SUTD doing a research-based thesis that leads to a master of engineering degree in research.
Through the System Design & Management (SDM) core course and individually chosen electives, SDM fellows:
learn to use systems thinking to understand the technical, managerial, and societal components of large-scale, complex challenges;
discover how these components influence each other as part of larger systems;
participate in rigorous classroom assignments and projects;
learn to see the world and relationships in new ways; and
innovate and lead from this inclusive and holistic view.

Entry Requirements
Potential applicants to the MIT-SUTD Dual Masters' Programme should possess:
A bachelor's degree in engineering or science, or equivalent.
An appropriate GRE/GMAT score. 
GRE DI Code is 7398. GMAT* code is PNB-GL-03 (SCM) or PNB-GL-80 (SDM)
* only applicable to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and System Design and Management (SDM) programmes
Proficiency in English.
IELTS is required if English is not your medium of instruction in your undergraduate studies. 
A Statement of Interest
You may state your experience, research interest and passion for the topic of study. Students are encouraged to describe how they can use the coursework learning at MIT and apply the knowledge in research at SUTD (3000 words).

A holistic selection process will be adopted. Other than academic achievements, candidates will also be assessed on their maturity, ambition and drive, work experience, English language skill, managerial progress, leadership potential, personal objectives and academic aptitude.
