The Government Infrastructure Group (GIG) is responsible for providing the ICT Infrastructure where the whole government will rely on for its digitalization effort and smart nation initiatives. The infrastructure layer covers the data centers, networks, cloud and endpoints. The modernization of the infrastructure and related services are underway and further efforts will be required to drive the adoption of advanced technologies to bring greater value to the country.

As an Associate/ Infrastructure Engineer, you will be tasked to support the whole-of-government computing requirements to meet business requirements and comply with IT governance framework. This requires envisioning the new services, insight into the organization’s business, architecture planning, technology roadmaps and coordinating with other technical expertise in the design and implementation of the solutions while planning for risk and growth.

What to Expect:

·  Take ownership and work with outsourced service providers to manage the delivery of network services and SLA (Service Level Agreement) for hosting network infrastructure and services.
    Work with outsourced service providers in ensuring efficient operations management and timely incident and problem resolution.
   Identify opportunities and work with service providers to the improvement of service delivery  and enhancement of the network infrastructure and services.
     Subject matter expert in network infrastructure technology to provide advice to agencies on the technical setup and liaise with architects, consultants and agency stakeholder(s) to manage expectations, as required.
    Work with various parties to participate in matters relating to finance budgeting, contract management, procurement, asset management and audit of network infrastructure and services.
    Participate in the planning and engagement of stakeholder(s) to recommend and justify new initiatives/enhancement, and involve in the conceptualization, design, procurement, implementation, deployment of the initiatives to agencies.

How to Succeed:

  Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering or Information Technology or related disciplines ·
    Minimum 2 years (or 4 years for diploma holders) of relevant IT experience in deploying and operating network infrastructure and services ·
     Good knowledge and experience in network infrastructure such as LAN and WAN network technologies ·
      Pro-active, dynamic and with good analytical/conceptual thinking ·
      Able to work independently and as a good team player ·
      Keen interest in exploring new technology and adaptive to changes ·
   Good written and verbal communication, with the ability to present and communicate effectively with non-technical audience ·
      Strong interpersonal skills and team interaction/effectiveness
  •  Candidates who possess industry certifications such as Information Technology               Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and CCNA will be preferred

         Preferably familiar and with experience in Government ICT environment
