Job Description
The purpose of this position is to direct the design and implementation of risk management strategy, policies and programmes which are integral to the organisation’s enterprise risk management architecture in achieving business objectives prudently

Risk Management Strategy & Execution
  • Participates in the design, development and implementation of risk management strategy, policies and programmes through the identification, assessment, mitigation and reporting in the management of credit, compliance, strategic, investment and M&A risks 
  • Stays abreast of trends and developments in risk management, including the rollout of revised credit rating methodology and tool and constantly researching and using best practices in methodologies, analytics and models as benchmarks to improve the efficacy of current strategies and policies 
  • Participates in localising policies in EJA yard and periodically reviews Employee’s Code of Conduct and participates the policies updates to ensure the relevance and continuing currency 
  • Monitors and coordinates compliance activities of other departments by being cognisant of the status of all compliance activities and trends identified in the relevant area, when required 
  • Ensures Risk Controllers of Rigs & Floaters, Repairs & Upgrades, Offshore Platforms and Specialised Shipbuilding are apprised of risk’s imperatives, priorities and processes to ensure they are performing their responsibilities well 
  • Provides advises on risk management issues and corrective measures and articulates the risk-related implications 
  • Oversees training workshops to build risk awareness and ownership culture across the organisation including collaborating with HR, Legal and relevant departments to develop an effective compliance training programme 
  • In order to ensure that risk management strategy and framework facilitates prudent growth of the business in safeguarding the company’s assets and shareholders’ interests 


Risk Identification and Evaluation
  • Drafts and updates policies and processes for mitigating, managing and reporting risks, being aware of occurring risk management trends and development in adapting best practices for team utilisation 
  • Oversees team responsible for identifying, analysing and evaluating risks through the utilisation of risk tools and techniques and participates in the rollout of RACI tables for new Risk Operating Model 
  • Provides operational support in assessing, grading and monitoring credit worthiness of stakeholders (i.e. existing and potential customers, contractors, vendors, etc.) 
  • Collaborates with the appointed Risk Controllers to conduct comprehensive stress tests to determine the probability, velocity and materiality of different scenarios in identifying exit strategies 
  • Oversees team reviews on risk papers for Board, EXCO, Senior Management Committee and all other applicable approval authorities and supports the finalisation and rollout of the approval paper template 
  • Leads risk analyses. Identify and assess risks (credit, compliance, strategic, investment, M&A etc), providing guidance as required 
  • In order to ensure risk identification and evaluation, methodologies and processes are designed to assess risks holistically and rigorously 


Risk Management, Monitoring and Reporting
  • Provides inputs for the company’s risk metrics and tolerance limits, designs and implements credit/compliance risk dashboards, as well as reviews and mitigates risks of potential investments and M&A to ensure alignment with the company’s latest risk appetite 
  • Manages monthly and quarterly reporting to the Board/Audit and Risk Committee, detailing and analysing exposures, providing comparisons and trends, prescribed and specific provisions, key risk issues and large exposure information 
  • Monitors the evaluation and delivery of risk management policies & programmes in supporting business objectives and implements corrective actions to address risk management issues 
  • In order to ensure risk management, monitoring and reporting processes are well integrated with the company’s core activities in enhancing risk culture in the organisation 


Risk Management Team Support
  • Works with other risk management team members to achieve functional objectives and deadlines, providing expert inputs on risk management as required 
  • Oversees and participates in risk management projects and task forces. Promote cross-functional learning and development. Balances team workload. Enhances overall team productivity 
  • Supports CRO (and deputizes CRO whenever necessary) to enhance ERM programs and facilitate the attainment of strategic goals and corporate objectives while complying with all applicable regulations, quality, safety and risk accreditation standards where company operates 
  • In order to allow team members to collaborate well, meet functional objectives and attain personal career goals 


Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Management System Support
  • Incorporates HSEQ work cultures and best practices to ensure the successful implementation of HSEQ management systems 
  • Maintains and executes HSEQ procedures, policies and programmes and drives continuous improvement through risk-based thinking and analysis 
  • Supports the conduct of HSEQ management system audits to ensure compliance with legislations and company policies 
  • In order to ensure compliance with health, safety, environment and quality management systems 


Requirement

Education & experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business, or related field 
  • 8 years of Risk Management experience, preferably in credit or compliance risk 
  • Experienced in various aspects of risk management programmes in a corporate or consulting environment

Functional skills:
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office products 
  • Excellent data analytical skills 
  • Sound knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management with emphasis in credit and compliance risks 
  • Familiar with risk management and process improvement tools and techniques 
  • In-depth knowledge of organisation and business structure
