  • Leading Western Cafe outlet
  • 5.5 days work week (6AM-11PM / 8 hours per day)
  • Min 3-5 years of R&D experience, Preferred in western bakery, pastries, more for caf style

Our client , a leading western cafe oulet.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Passionate about food & beverage
  • Follow a proven innovation process to developing new food products for Maxx Coffee
  • Research and understand f&b trends and has the ability to create new ideas and concepts
  • Support cost saving and margin improvement projects to deliver to the business financial expectations
  • Source and evaluate new ingredients along with the purchasing team
  • Assist in documentation of costs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and certification of Halal and other QA bodies with the QA lead
  • Support supply chain in mitigating risks on ingredients
  • Design, experiment and meet project deliverables, including working with suppliers to develop prototypes, lead team tastings to evaluate new formulations, running analytical and sensory tests to ensure prototype meets KPIs
  • Support sensory validation tests such as focus groups, product guidance tests, or central location tests
  • Support commercialization of ingredients at supplier manufacturing facilities
  • Create processes and product specifications to meet initial quality assurance requirements
  • Work cross-functionally with Brand/Marketing, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to bring product to market, including the identification of potential new suppliers or raw materials
  • Develop work plans and cross functional timelines to manage project information
  • Provide competitor analysis across a variety of product areas to educate the business on risks and opportunities
  • Conduct business analysis (competitor sales performance, pricing analysis, packaging reviews)
  • Conduct product training as required
  • Run and manage kitchen for special stores

  • Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Degree in Culinary Arts / Food Science
  • Experienced in Pastry & Bakery Goods
  • Knowledge of product development, quality control, sensory, statistics and consumer research methodology
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Self-starter, must be able to work in a team environment
  • Good written and oral communication skills
