Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Ensure proper control and utilization of material resources in the section
  • Control utilization of cranes in the yards
  • Control utilization of barges, tug boats and floating cranes
  • Study lifting requirements
  • Assist in docking & undocking of vessels
  • Review the production work processes to enhance efficiency and productivity
  • Responsible for efficient administration, supervision and management of his workforce:
  • Look after the welfare of his workers
  • Ensure the discipline of his workers
  • Ensure the safety of his workers
  • Deploy and utilize manpower effectively
  • Carry out tasking of work to his subordinates
  • Control and manage sub-contractors and their workers
  • Manage the career development and training of personnel
  • Plan work schedules and ensure work completion through meetings, discussions and progress report in line with manager’s work schedule
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree or Diploma in any Engineering disciplines
  • Lifting Supervisor and Crane Operator Certificates
  • At least 3 years of related work experience for degree holder/ 4 years of related work experience for diploma holder/ 5 years of marine engineering work experience for those without tertiary education
  • Possess knowledge of and/ or experience in:
  • Lifting requirements
  • Lifting technique
  • Mooring and vessel movement
  • Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Possess good leadership, planning and decision-making skills
  • Able to work in a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
