Our client is a leading game development studio in Asia Pacific with a presence in Singapore for more than a decade. The Singapore office has a multicultural team with over 30 different nationalities and is rapidly expanding as a result of the company's continued success in creating memorable gameplay experiences.

The Job

As a Gameplay Architect, you will collaborate with the whole tech department to ensure consistent technical architecture and high level of code quality across the project. Your responsibilities include:
  • Liaising with designers and gameplay programmers and driving the collaboration between designers, gameplay programmers and engine programmers.
  • Working with PMs and POs from each scrum team to validate technically feature requests.
  • Supporting teams in developing features that are multiplayer and online ready.
  • Helping mentor and coach junior team members.
  • Taking up ownership of a set of gameplay features and modules.
  • Leading overall development of the related systems.
  • Identifying and delivering mechanisms to deliver scalable, systemic gameplay.
  • Identifying and promoting features that can support the game post-launch.
  • Helping monitor performance and identifying when the team needs to take action to improve it.
  • Acting as an advocate and knowledge source for multiplayer related topics for the gameplay programming team.
  • Overseeing and promoting the development of auto-tests for your team’s content and ensuring breakages in auto-tests are promptly responded to.

The Profile
  • You possess a Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering and you have at least 5 years of experience programming for video games or related disciplines.
  • You have extensive knowledge of low-level C/C++ programming and debugging.
  • You also have relevant experience working on AAA titles, current and next-gen consoles and you have shipped AAA titles on consoles.
  • You can solve complex problems with your analytical and logical approach.
  • You are a driven individual, with an eye for detail and the flexibility to adapt to fast-paced changing environments.
  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and you can work well in teams.
