Huntsman’s Textile Effects Division is now searching for a Global Forecast Specialist. The ideal candidate is responsible to develop and manage forecasting models and statistical forecasts to support supply chain operational deliverables.
To be successful in this role, you must have passion to translate data into business strategies, you should enjoy business partnering with stakeholders from the business and demand function, drive change, challenge the status quo and make things happen. This role reports to Global Supply Chain director under Global Supply Chain organization, based in Singapore.
What will your day to day look like?
Understanding and apply Huntsman internal and local EHS rules and regulations.
Work with the Demand Planners to create the Statistical Base forecast for all or part of the items that belong to the respective Sales Organization(s). In particular, ensures:
The correct algorithms are used in the SAP/APO
Base statistical forecast is created based on historical demand and other available data sources
Creates the ABCXYZ analysis
Constantly finetune the base forecast on an exception basis
Review sales history and cleanse the historical sales adjustments
Finetune base statistical forecast with commercial marketing intelligence coming from the Demand Planner.
Providing the proper product mix (SKU level forecast), to have the right volume in the right time, to maximize customer satisfaction (OTIF)
Support the Demand Planners to manage the demand planning of phase-in and phase-out of new or obsolete products respectively.
Participate in ad-hoc BPO calls for continuously improving the forecast/system.
Create a close working relationship with the Demand Planner and establish efficient and effective communication.
Maintain the planning data in APO and decide on the selection of the most appropriate statistic algorithm.
Manage or lead projects for overall planning improvements.
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
Bachelor/University - Material Management/Supply Chain Management/Economics, Logistics Management, or Information Technology, potentially Business Studies
Statistics & Analytics Studies/Certificate
5 to 8 years in a Forecast Analyst/Demand Forecasting role
Hands-on experience with modeling, forecasting, analysis and simulation tools.
Exposure to working and impacting within a country or local / sub-regional business unit
Preferably from a multi-national organization with exposure to complex, multi-SKUs manufacturing and sales environment
Excellent analytical and statistical skills
Strong oral and written knowledge of English and local language
Able to facilitate discussions towards resolution
System oriented, managing large data sets
Basic understanding of the market and the product he/she is forecasting
SAP, APO, Excel, Word, Powerpoint
Experience in reporting tools/creating reports
