My client is a leading player in the semiconductor equipment and optics industry and they are on the lookout for an Engineering and R&D Head - this is a new role due to their expansion plans in APAC Responsibilities Develop next generation wafer inspection and metrology equipment Assume prime responsibility to build and sustain a team of diverse R&D engineers in Singapore to support and drive assigned projects to successful release Manage and develop a team for multiple programs, product development, sustaining program management, NPI, engineering management and escalation management for existing product platforms with the key goal of assuring customer success in utilizing the products Develop skill sets of the engineering team – both managers and engineers to develop new products while interacting with cross functional teams (marketing, operations and customers) As Head of Engineering, develop the strategy road map for R&D and engineering for the next 5 years, play a key role in Product Life Cycle meetings and drive engineering actions to closure Lead the overall engineering team in executing new product development as well as CI projects on all product lines Liaise with engineering, manufacturing and marketing to resolve product issues and define and drive the technology and development roadmap for all products Manage communication with external customers and interact with global field offices in relation to strategy and R&D development Manage activities along with completing yearly evaluations for the team Qualifications Advanced Degree in Engineering with at least 10 – 15 years in the semiconductor or equipment industry 10 years or more in the development, service and manufacturing of advanced semiconductor equipment Prior experience in managing multiple engineering projects and entire PLC management experience Expertise with optical system design, automation and motion control Ability to define overall system and sub-system requirements Knowledge of semiconductor fab and optical metrology will be a big plus Ability to motivate an entire engineering team and provide development plans to grow capability Experience of customer support, troubleshooting and diagnostics skills would be required Experience of prioritizing projects based on customer/market requirements and engineering resources Please send your resume in WORD format by clicking the apply button below or contact Abhik Damani on +65 6701 1527 for a confidential discussion. Follow up with HUB for policy issuance of pending cases
