Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Assist and support the General Counsel and line manager in providing advice, guidance, direction, support and managing legal and regulatory risks for the business lines or projects from time to time.

• Implement and coordinate the strategic policies, procedures, controls and operational objectives of the Group Legal Function

• Provide legal advice, guidance and support to the multiple and varied business areas and functions to ensure that the Group’s exposure to legal risk is managed and the execution of Group business and operational strategies and initiatives is facilitated.

• Ensure senior legal management is fully briefed on major issues arising in relevant business area and major legislative changes in area of expertise

• Recommend selection of panel law firms and other appropriate external parties

• Maintain and develop positive and professional working relationships with the team members and legal advisers supporting allocated businesses or projects in other jurisdictions and support functions.

• Implement legal risk management policies and controls in relevant business areas.

• Assist the business to remain compliant with legal risk management requirements set out in the Group Standards Manual and Legal FIM.

• Responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks, including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.

• Implementation of the Global AML, Sanctions and ABC Policies, supporting Guidance, and Line of Business Procedures in accordance with the core principles of Organization’s Financial Crime Risk Appetite. 

This is a 1-Year Contract Role.

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer with at least 5 years of relevant post qualification experience are preferred

• Relevant Experience in banking industry/Financial Services are preferred

• Experienced and confident practitioner

• Stamina and ability to work under pressure
