Position Summary

The Payroll Team Lead is responsible for end-to-end Payroll processing administration for employees. The role is responsible for leading other Payroll processors and reviewing, analyzing and processing all payroll information for a designated group. The position requires comprehensive knowledge of basic payroll principles and state/local tax regulations. This position requires excellent communications skills, including the proper use of payroll terminology, professionalism, and ability to preserve confidentiality.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Assist employees in the understanding of payroll procedures, payroll activity ensuring timeliness and accuracy
  • Oversee, train, and direct daily work of processors, while providing support, and special projects, as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments as required for process improvements
  • Resolve complex customer service issues and problems utilizing expertise in payroll policies and laws
  • Respond to questions from employees and resolves discrepancies
  • Utilize advanced level of payroll knowledge and experience, creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving problems
  • Ensure processors meet the transmission deadlines for payroll each pay period
  • Independently solves payroll issues, making routine decisions and enlisting the involvement of the Payroll Manager with complex issues
  • Assist with phone inquiries on a daily basis from employees. Questions including but not limited to the following: pay range, paycheck descriptions, Kronos access, edits, approving Kronos records, calculation of pay, which may involve research


Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree graduate
  • At least 5 years experience in payroll processing in large volume, multi-state payroll for a BPO/Shared Services, multinational environment
  • At least 2 years experience in handling a team
  • Experience working in a Healthcare & Hospital organization is a plus but not required
  • Preferred Computer Applications: HRIS/Payroll systems preferred, Microsoft Office and Excel
  • Above average communication skills
  • Willing to work in night shift
