PMO Officer (Banking)

  • Support the management of IT projects by e.g. tracking project progress, identifying/resolving project issues and controlling project budget. 
  • Create project status report/dashboard and present to senior management. 
  • Review project plan and project documents such as master schedule, resource allocation charts, test and release plan to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal and Head Office PMO standards. 
  • Provide training to project managers on the internal and Head Office project management methodologies. 
  • Act as a mentor to identify and develop project management talents for the organization. 
  • Communicate actively and negotiate collaboratively with stakeholders to create win-win situations for the project. 
  • Serve as a communication bridge between branch office, head office and clients. 
  • Conduct process improvement – Model and analyze As-Is processes and optimize To-Be processes, procedures and rules for system development and maintenance. 
  • Create and continuously improve the standardized processes, rules and work procedures for system development and maintenance. 
  • Create and continuously improve the internal company rules and regulations related to system development and maintenance. E.g. System Development Outsourcing rules and procedures. 
  • Enforce the above-mentioned processes, rules and procedures on the organizations through periodic review; consistent corrective action; continuous education and training for staffs. 
  • Participate and support both external and internal audits conducted by professional auditors and Head Office. 

  • Diploma/Degree in Computer Science/ Information Technology/ Business Management from a recognized institution 
  • Minimum 5 - 10 years of experience in project management as PM or PMO
  • Strong knowledge with practical experiences in applying project management methodologies (E.g. Agile, Waterfall) and SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Objectively identify project risks/issues and create practical countermeasures/solutions to address them
  • Effective communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Preferable to have experience working in the banking industry or financial IT companies
  • Preferable to have onshore/offshore vendor management/ IT Service Management experiences
  • Knowledge in regulations such as MAS TRM and Outsourcing Guidelines
  • PMP/PRINCE2/MSP/ITIL certification will be added advantages
  • Experiences in internal and external audits will be added advantage
