Job Description
  • A qualified accountant with a combination of strong technical skills and commercial acumen.
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, ARO, with frequent interactions with the Regional Head of Finance in a flat finance structure.
  • Supporting to meet the IFRS, SII reporting demands from Aviva Group Centre.
  • Building strong business partnering relationships with selected Asian businesses.
  • Working closely with a range of Group functions including Financial Reporting, FP&A, Actuarial and the Treasury teams.
  • Ensure that the businesses provide the Right numbers, on time, with no surprises to both Group and to the Regional office.
  • Ensure that ARO has a detailed and in-depth understanding of the financial results and drivers to the business, and that this is clearly communicated to ARO executives and Group.
  • Develop all aspects of financial planning, reporting and management information of the business.
  • Contribute to reporting to the Region and Group on the Asia results in accordance with reporting timetables
  • Prepare monthly MI reports, management presentations, and contribute to ad hoc financial reports for the Asia region.
  • Participate and contribute to the implementation of IFRS17 project for Asia region.

DIRECT REPORTS & RELATIONSHIPS
  • Span of the Role
  • Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, ARO, with frequent interactions with the Regional Head of Finance in a flat finance structure
  • Building effective relationships with Aviva Group Centre, across the Regional office, and with the Asian Businesses
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Timely and accurate review of Asia businesses financials, and production of Regions financial reports, MI, aligned with strategic outcomes.
  • Lead the regions financial reporting cycles and ensure timely and accurate submissions from business units.
  • Ensure full compliance with appropriate Group requirements and standards.
  • Ensure that risks taken in own areas of work are controlled within approved limits.
  • To understand and act within delegated authority given by ARO management.
  • To act within regulatory and professional constraints.
  • Ensure data integrity.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
  • Strong Life Insurance accounting knowledge (General Insurance a plus)
  • Financial reporting (IFRS; local Asian GAAP knowledge desirable)
  • Business analysis

QUALIFICATIONS
  • College Degree
  • Qualified Accountant

  • 5 years plus in insurance or other related financial institutions
  • Experience in financial reporting & planning
  • Analysis and understanding of Life and GI businesses
