TheSafety Coordinator will be based at the Marina East Desalination Plant (MEDP)site and will report to the Head, HSE (MEDP) on the HSE performance of the contractors and subcontractors, to ascertain that the site HSE management system and all WSH legal and other requirements are enforced and complied with. The duties and responsibilities of theSafety Coordinator at site shall include, among others, the following:
To be well versed with all WSH legal and other requirements
Daily review of PTWs before site works can commence
Daily site inspections including the monitoring of safety supervision of all work activities by the work supervisors, work behaviour of the workforce and the work conditions at site
Monitor the enforcement of, and compliance with, all site safety rules, safe work procedures and WSH legal and other requirements
Review all safety records maintained at site by the contractors
Intervene any unsafe act or activity and provide positive reinforcement for safe behaviour
Assist in incident investigation to determine root causes and remedial actions
Report to the Head, HSE (MEDP) on all observations and to recommend corrective actions to be taken
Prepare and submit daily reports on all safety matters
This appointment is on afixed-term contract basisforone year.JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualifications: GCE 'O' Levels and Advance Certificate in WSH (Level B)
At least 5 years working experience as a Safety Coordinator at construction sites
Good communication skills with the ability toconvey instructions clearly to a diverse workforce
