Business Function
Group Planning supports the Bank in the origination and execution of key strategic transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, investments and joint ventures, divestments, capital management and other ad-hoc strategic initiatives, to maximize the Bank%26rsquo;s financial and competitive position.
This role focusses on strategic planning within DBS:

  • You will be part of developing and framing the overall strategy for the Group.
  • You will be integral towards implementing the Group%26rsquo;s strategic agenda across all business, middle office and support units; and across geographies to drive strategic initiatives.
  • You will need to have your finger on the pulse on macro trends: this includes a scan of the macro environment and trends impacting banking (wide ranging from economic factors to cryptocurrencies) and assessing the impact and implications for the bank and the industry.


Working with Group to meet their KPIs
  • We lead the management processes, design and track scorecards %26amp; dashboards with all BUs/SUs/Countries.
  • We work with all BUs/SUs/Countries to align their achievements to their scorecard.
  • The unit is the Secretariat of the Group ExCo and the Group MC.


Maintaining a focus on our strategic objectives and aligning top of the house thinking
  • We will have to plan and implement the agenda for Group Leadership Conferences, Group management committee and Board Offsites: From story boarding with senior management, curation of contents to liaising with presenting parties to working with BUs/SUs/Countries on any follow up actions.
  • We also prepare the CEO decks for the quarterly board meetings and results briefings.


Building DBS%26rsquo; brand:
  • Crafting and researching on external engagements to showcase our brand and culture is also a key function.
  • We are also involved in the writing of the annual report, demonstrating how execution of strategy leads to value creation.

Requirements
  • We are looking for a dynamic and resilient team player, who has a passion for reading and understands the impact of macro-economics, government policies, regulations on business drivers and growth.
  • As part of the strategy team, you will need to be creative and strong in data analytics, with an ability to identify trends in politics, social issues, financial markets and economics and evaluate implications on current business strategy and help develop a response.
  • Candidate will need to understand financial, business models and appreciates the link between consumer behaviour and buying patterns in a business context.
  • Being a fast-paced team, we are also looking for a candidate who thrives under pressure, relishes challenges and can adapt well to changing circumstances and environments.
  • Most importantly, being a great team player, having a curious mind on history, philosophy, finance and financial markets, able to write and speak well and being detail-oriented would be key traits.
