The incumbent shall be responsible for supporting the Associate Director of Investment Governance Controls and the build out and integration of the Centre of Excellence (COE) across AIA by planning, managing and reporting on projects and initatives relating to the enhancement of the investment governance infrastructure and solutions across AIA. The incumbent would be expected to bring information technology ("IT") and project management experience, preferably derived from working within in asset management company(ies) ("AMC") or other financial institution although candidates with relevant experience from other industries may be considered.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, execute and manage a project with objective of achieving a centralized and automated solution to ensure integrity of the architecture of mandates across all AIA Business Units
  • Liaising with other stakeholders in Risk and Compliance to enhance the automation for tracking and reporting of breaches and errors across AIA
  • Serve as the primary liaison on behalf of Investment Governance with Investment Operations and Group IT for systems support as it relates to pre-trade controls being implemented within Bloomberg AIMS by the Investment Governance Controls Shared Service in Cyberjaya Malaysia for Business Units and AMCs across AIA.This would include taking responsibility for working with AIA Business Units and AMCs to advise them on how best to apply information controls and user permissions through their systems.
  • Planning for information technology advancements and exploring the possibility of capturing efficiency via the use or AI and Blockchain to enhance the governance and controls process across the Investment function in the AIA AMCs and Business Units
  • Facilitate project and infrastructure governance in connection with a newly launched UCITS Funds Platform, specifically with regard to any IT enhancement which may be required to ensure robust governance, controls and monitoring are applied on the investment objectives, guidelines and restrictions set out in the prospectus, invesmtne management agreements or as required under applicable laws to meet internal and regulatory (Luxemborg's and other relevant regulators') requirements.
  • Working closely with key stakeholders within Investment, IT, Risk and Compliance. This would entail serving as the advisory liaison on IT/automation matters as related to investment governance and controls.
  • Assist the Associate Director, Invesmtne Governance Controls COE with any other projects, matters and initatives from time to time as required.

Key Requirements
  • Minimum 6 years of IT and/or IT systems project management experience. Ideally from a reputable asset management company or financial institution. Candidates with relevant experience from other industries may be considered.
  • Previous experience with IT systems implementation, change management or project management would be desirable.
  • A strong understanding of portfolio management systems such as Bloomberg AIMS, Charles River or Blackrock Aladdin would be beneficial.
  • Relevant professional qualifications would be viewed favourably.
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Good communication ability and able to clearly outline progress and deliverables for projects and initiatives to stakeholders/management
  • Independent with strong self initiative
