My client is a western multinational technology company specializing in consumer electronics and electronics manufacturing and are on the lookout for an Experience Project (Mechanical) Engineer

  • Responsible for overall execution – scope definition, planning of resources, budgeting, task planning, timeline setting and project reporting
  • Establish roles and responsibilities for all members and provide effective communication to relevant stakeholders
  • Deliver one or major and minor system platform / technology projects from planning to manufacturing scale up and support launch
  • Leading major projects consisting of multiple cross functional areas – technical, manufacturing, quality
  • Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure all parts and component supplies by them are required standard and specifications.
  • Manage various projects from conceptual design, cost analysis, milestone creation, detail designing, manufacturing feasibility to mass production
  • Responsible for product planning, resource planning, tasks scheduling and cross functional budget distribution to maximize efficiency throughout each project phase.
  • Work closely with both operational, logistical, quality and business teams to launch high value products on time and within budget.
  • Lead various meetings in both internal and external settings with regards to update and report on project status & performance, define new goals and confirm existing targets at various project phases and detail actions planning
  • Manage the project to complete within agreed time and budget with required specification and quality standard.
  • Use 2D and 3D solid modelling software for detailed design and drafting of process, semi-con, hard disk, packaging and material handling equipment and industry automation.
  • Drive product and technology concept ideas by working with technical, marketing and business team.
  • Support post launch/ sustaining activities

  • Advanced degree in Mechanical engineering with 5 years’ experience in an R&D and New Product Development Group
  • Prior experience as a Design Engineer with at least 2 – 3 years’ of project management experience
  • Stronghold with electro mechanical, plastic, sheet metal parts design expertise and experience in working with suppliers to develop and qualify electro mechanical and printed circuit assembly parts
  • Proven ability to lead team, engaging stakeholders to effectively work as a team and provide best solutions to meet project deadlines
  • Travel of 10 – 20%
