Job Description
Subject Matter Expert - End User Computing

Overview
  • As an End User Computing SME, you will have the ability to directly impact successful business adoption of EUC Technologies. The EUC Team you will be responsible for will be envisioning and developing the technical solutions that meets Company End User Computing needs, advising on business transformation with the aim of aligning people, processes, and technology while fostering a relationship with our business partners as a trusted advisor. 
  • Reporting into the Enterprise Computing organisation, you will work in close collaboration with Enterprise Architecture team and IT operations. You will provide technical thought leadership for EUC emerging products for the business. 
  • The End User Computing SME oversees a number of key functions within the IT organisation that enables the delivery of high quality services to end users. You are also required to ensure Service Support and Service Delivery processes are in place to meet business needs based on agreed Service Levels. This position is a stakeholder-facing role, and requires that you establish and manage expectations within the business and drive the IT teams to achieve those expectations to a high standard. 
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a globally deployed, supported and flexible Desktop infrastructure that includes 
             - optimized images with necessary language support 
             - patch management and anti-malware 
             - secure and encrypted data policies 
             - centrally managed licensing compliance 
  • Engineer and support globally available end user solutions (e.g. Active Directory, SCCM, MDM, O365, Lync, Cloud backup etc) 
  • Supported and implemented for end user or desktop support includes 
             - Patching, Software distribution of desktop / Laptops (SCCM or others) 
             - Defining and creating desktop / laptop SOE images (Hardware standards, GPO, security hardening) - Standard 
               laptops/desktops and Standard Software 
  • Supported and implemented projects for end users in Microsoft Office (2007/2010/2013) 
  • Supported and implemented projects for end users in on-premise Exchange Hybrid environment with O365, and migrating to O365 
  • Supported and implemented projects for end users in Microsoft Exchange 
  • Supported and implemented projects for end user identity management, e.g. Okta, on the use side 
  • Supported and implemented project for end users such as: 
             - Citrix VDI user deployment, user VDI imaging and operations 
             - Citrix Xenapp support and user focused involvement 
             - End user Mobility: Multi Factor Authentication, VPM, Cloud Backup 
             - File sharing, printing, cloud printing, etc. and other end user side productivity options 
  • Coordinate with Service Desk and L2/L3 support teams around the globe for issue resolution 
  • Understand and apply knowledge of Company environment in order to deliver solutions that meet the needs of the business. 
  • Provide mentorship to Desktop engineers and administrators. 
  • Create and maintain detailed documentation of Desktop infrastructure, processes and procedures 
  • Provide direction to desktop support teams by assigning tasks, measuring and addressing performance and managing resource utilization. 
  • Orchestrate and work with key vendors. 
  • Conduct performance assessments in accordance with Company process. 
  • Actively seek improvements to the team's process. 
  • Actively participate in operational ITIL processes - i.e. Incident, Change Management (CAB), Release Management, Problem Management, and Availability Management+. 
  • Manage budget, work to meet or exceed budget expectations. 
  • Communicate necessary information to all levels of the organization. 
  • Act as a liaison on strategic projects as assigned 

Requirements:
  • Must have ability to work in a fast pace environment demonstrating autonomy in conforming to strategic intent while adhering to team values at all times 
  • 10+ years of relevant IT experience (desktop management, backup, patch management, monitoring, security, performance, capacity, availability
  • 5+ years' EUC engineering SME experience within an IT service provider or internal IT organization 
  • 3+ year' experiencing in deploying and managing SaaS based end-user services such as O365, Cloud backup (eg Druva), Okta, MDM. 
  • 2+ years' experience in Identity and Access Management 
  • 2+ years' experience in business mobility, Mobile Device management (MDM), Mobile information management (MIM), BYOD 
  • 3+ years' experience in engineering, designing and deploying End User Computing products or solutions 
  • 3+ years' experience in infrastructure design of Active Directory and desktop systems deployment, workspace services, and Single Sign On technologies 
  • Technical knowledge of various MS Windows operating systems and database solutions 
  • Experience with application virtualization or electronic software distribution management systems (e.g., Microsoft SMS/SCCM) 
  • Understanding of computer server architectures, including Storage Area Networking (SAN), networking topics 
  • Experience producing business relevant presentations and technical oriented writing is mandatory.
