Job Description :

Reporting directly to the Section Head, Financial Reporting and Governance, this position oversees the group reporting for AIA Singapore and other related entities within the Singapore segment. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting to Group Finance for Group Financial Statements preparation. As a sub-set of group reporting, this position also oversees the reporting of Investment Linked Products (ILP) and Investment Accounting (IA).

Key Responsibilities
Group Reporting (85%)
  • Monitor monthly, quarterly and year end close and ensure the timely reporting of all monthly/quarterly financial information to Group for preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements
  • Ensure the exposure of balance sheet account codes which owned by him is at controllable/minimum level
  • Coordinate with all relevant parties in resolving any queries raised by Group or local management team
  • Liaison officer of AIASG with sub-contractors, IACOE and AIAIM
  • Liaison with the auditors to ensure the completion of IFRS audit
  • Ensure delivery of the semi-annual and annual PH report for ILP sub funds
  • Ensure delivery of the ILP sub funds regulatory returns

BPO of SAP's sub-ledgers (10%)
  • Overall GL manager of AIA Singapore
  • Control the posting period of SAP to ensure all SAP entries are posted in timely manners
  • Investigate and resolve issues if irregularities arise for the group ledgers so that accurate information can be guaranteed for financial statement preparation
  • Responsible for end-to-end management of Procurement system (preferably with knowledge in SAP Ariba system)

Others(5%)
  • Assess reporting impact of all projects through liaison with business owners and OAP


Key Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor of Accountancy
  • Experience: 8 to 9 years' experience in insurance industry with supervisory experience in financial reporting/financial data analysis/general ledger area
  • Certification/License: CPA
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of IFRS, SFRS
  • Investment Link Product (ILP) and Investment accounting experience preferred
