Job Description
Our client is Western MNC industrial equipment manufacturer used in many different manufacturing sector, such as F&B, FMCG, pharmaceutical, automotive manufacturing sector.

Position Title: Technical Service Director, Asia Pacific

Scope: Australia, India & South Asia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam


Job Summary:
  • To provide the company group strategy implementation guidance to the Technical Service departments within each of the operations with a view to increasing total Service sales revenue, increased customer satisfaction and optimizing resources. Ensuring that targets, objectives, KPIs and procedures are properly defined, implemented and optimized which will guarantee the highest level of customer satisfaction. 
  • Define the Region policy together with group and ensure the correct implementation and adherence to Region and Global guidelines, including Quality, safety and environment policy roll-out across the region. 
  • Guarantee internal company satisfaction by providing effective pre & post sales support whilst meeting the technical expectations of customers in line with group strategy, rules and procedures 


Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Work with Global Divisions, region sales organization to implement the Technical Service strategy for Asia Pacific (excluding China), taking into account specific requirement of our different sales pillars and Company strategy 
  • Providing support and direction for Strategic Account Technical Management initiatives within the region, directly managing region resources for these projects and managing country involvement in such projects 
  • Transforming companys services organization with the focus on Services delivery to focusing on services delivery and profitability (Cost centre to profit centre), driving reactive activities to more proactive activities and expand companys services offering to professional services offering (Consultancy, data management, etc) in mid and longer term 
  • Define and accomplish ASPAC service profitability targets and looking at initiatives to achieve the organization target (specifically Countries Cost To Service) 
  • Ensuring the global strategy for Technical Distribution Support is implemented within the region 
  • Review and strengthen the Technical service quality management across the region 
  • Review the organization, task assignment, resource allocation, customer segmentation etc, in implementing and managing key performance indicators 
  • Competency System setup for the technical service team in ASPAC to ensure quality and consistent technical skillset and competency level is delivered across the region. 
  • Optimize service delivery organization towards defined ASPAC business strategy 
  • Optimize the technical service escalation management processes. Ensuring visibility and proactive management and escalate of critical issues to Global technical team to attain support and resolution to support the business. 
  • Implement and sustain technical service project & process management skills 
  • Work with different functions to create and maintain an SLA 
  • Continuous translation of customer needs to companys service 
  • Participate and drive continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Participate at a management level for the Business Unit 



Qualifications and Experience:
  • Degree/ Masters in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering 
  • Proven track record in a Technical Service environment ideally with a bias towards electronics and/or mechanical engineering 
  • Proven ability to manage diverse customer requirements within multiple countries and sales channels 
  • Proven track record of achieving service profitability for the service organization 
  • Ability to develop/create solutions to accommodate customer requirements 
  • Experience of working with SLAs and business transformation 
  • Excellent attention to detail and motivated by high level problem solving 
  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with internal and external customers 
  • Experience within an International matrix led organization 
  • Experience with LEAN Continuous Improvement methodologies 
  • Experience operating in B2B environment
