SGD$200-235k including bonus

The Company
The company is a major institutional investor progressively expanding its APAC real estate operations. This is driven by significant balance sheet capital to be invested in Asia across a broad investment style that incorporates direct and indirect assets. It is undergoing a sustained hiring programme to build its core Asia investment and asset management team within the region. There is now an immediate need to secure an APAC-focused VP for Asset and Portfolio Management.

The Position
Based in Singapore, the appointed individual will report directly to the Regional Head of Asset Management and be fully responsible for managing the performance of allocated APAC investment assets. This portfolio will progressively grow in value and breadth of diversity and which will include direct and indirect investments across all asset types. The appointed individual will prepare and implement asset and investment-level business plans and support the investment management process through the full life-cycle of asset acquisition, management and divestment. This will include asset evaluation during the pre-acquisition due diligence and evaluation phase, the proposal and execution of post-acquisition performance management and enhancement strategies, development of appropriate partnerships with external asset and property managers, budget and business planning and monthly, quarterly and annual portfolio performance reporting. There will be a need to drive performance for direct investments whilst astutely managing relationships with external fund managers for indirect investments. Naturally, the appointed individual will secure and share market insights across the team whilst providing thought leadership with respect to market/sector trends in its core markets and which will support investment and exit strategy.

The Person
Interested candidates should offer Degree accreditation in Real Estate (investment/valuation and investment/asset management) and at least 10 years deep regional experience of asset/portfolio management across the core real estate markets. There is an expectation of a deep understanding of the China real estate market. Prior exposure managing diverse stakeholders (including external fund, property and asset management professionals) will be desirable whilst an ability to travel frequently is essential. A basic understanding of finance would be desirable to support the financial due diligence process for new deals as well as for budget management and stewardship.
