Business Function

Group Strategic Marketing %26amp; Communications (GSMC) is responsible forbuilding, protecting, and enhancing the DBS brand in an increasinglycommoditised banking industry. Working closely with all units within the DBSGroup, we create and execute integrated strategies that focus oncommunications, marketing and research to differentiate – and elevate – ourbrand from the rest of the competition.


  • Enhance DBS’ reputation through positive external profiling of our Consumer Banking, Wealth Management businesses, and Sustainability initiatives
  • Provide strategic counsel on media communications to positively predispose our stakeholders (e.g. investors, customers, employees) to the bank.
  • Extend public relations support to senior management/DBS spokespersons with integrated communications plans across traditional, social, online and offline platforms
  • Mitigate potential media and social media issues
  • Actively create and execute on external communications strategies
  • Cultivate relationships and build rapport with key journalists/editors
  • Use analytics and social listening tools to measure effectiveness of communications initiatives
  • Support communications for special projects

  • Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from any discipline
  • Preferably with 7 years and above of experience in a communications, journalism or public relations role
  • Exceptional writer, editor and communicator
  • Has pulse on up-and-coming digital/online trends as well as topical news
  • Open-minded and adventurous, but anchored with professional integrity
  • Strong sense of ownership of results
  • Ability to build strong relationships with journalists and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Good working knowledge of banking and economics is a plus
