Job Description

The Accounting Director based in Singapore and reporting to the CFO will be responsible for the accounting activities and processes for the Kacific group.


With HQ in Singapore and team members based across APAC, Kacific () is a leading next-generation wholesale broadband satellite operator that disrupts the industry and brings telecommunication services (high-speed internet) to countries in the Pacific and South-East Asia.


With our first satellite launched in 2019 and our second in preparation, this is an exciting time to join the team at Kacific.

Your role will be critical to the success of Kacific and will cover the following areas:


ACCOUNTING-RELATED

  • Manage all accounting operations in compliance with IFRS
  • Supervise and ensure the performance of monthly accounting activities including AR-AP-GL-Billing and consolidation, full cycle bookkeeping, journal entries, reconcile monthly credit card statements
  • Monitor the purchase of goods and its allocation between fixed assets and inventory
  • Support the Logistics and Operations departments by reviewing the inventory and ensuring the accounting of the items in a timely manner
  • Maintain and take ownership of the full sets of accounts for all group companies
  • Perform the monthly intercompany reinvoicing and monitor intercompany loans
  • Monitor activity and reconcile GL accounts
  • Conduct month-end closings and year-end close process
  • Compute and lodge tax returns and GST/VAT declarations
  • Analyze financial information, and design and provide management reporting
  • Produce consolidated financial statements for the group
  • Complete annual audits in conjunction with the external auditor
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with IFRS principles such as IFRS16
  • Participate in financial standards setting and forecast process and liaise with Finance Director and CFO to improve financial procedures

SYSTEMS-RELATED

  • Implement and recommend modifications to accounting systems and processes
  • Design and manage financial databases and filing systems

To be successful in this role you will require a demonstrated successful track record in the following area:

Mandatory

  • Accounting qualification, with extensive experience with producing financial statements and management accounts
  • Extensive knowledge in IFRS within Singapore
  • Experience in managing audits and working with external auditors
  • Advanced knowledge of major accounting software systems
  • Experience in preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders, excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills

Preferred

  • Experience working in a start-up or a smaller team environment in Singapore
  • Experience working in organizations with entities in multiple jurisdictions, particularly in the Asia Pacific region (Vanuatu, Australia, New Zealand)
  • Experience in tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions

Qualifications

  • Accounting qualification
  • Bachelor or higher degree in a relevant discipline
