Account Manager - Job Description

Do you want to get hands-on experience managing and building a top classical ballet brand in Singapore We are looking for a Accounting Manager to work directly with our Managing Director in the day-to-day operations of Yan Ballet Academy, a premier chain of ballet schools in Singapore. You will be the main driver for accounting responsibilities for all our branches, using modern cloud based tools. We are here to make sure that our teachers have an amazing environment to do what they do best - teach classical ballet to our amazing students! That starts with smooth operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage our accounting processes:
    • Use Xero to input journals, transactions and events
    • Manage Account Receivable and Account Payable
    • Monthly closing of accounts
    • Annual closing and preparation of Financial Statements
    • Managing GST and GST reporting
    • Invoicing
    • Expenses and receipts
    • Payroll
    • Bank reconciliation
    • Liaise with our corporate secretary and ensure all requirements are met
    • Other related accounting activities
  • Manage our retail processes:
    • Reconciling dancewear sales to cash and bank payments
    • Managing inventory levels and inventory counts together with the admin team
    • Other retail related activities
  • CRM management:
    • Ensuring our CRM system is up to date with support from admin team (class attendance, make-up records, new students, class schedules, monthly private class sessions and so on)
  • Customer Management & Sales:
    • Assist with customer service through calls, WhatsApp or email for new or existing customers.
    • Assist with marketing efforts (social media and other media)
  • Assist in the overall operational management of the school:
    • Assist in the planning and execution for events conducted by the school, or that the school participates in (competitions, examinations, Master Classes, workshops, overseas trips, performances, etc.)
    • Liaise with landlords of our branches
    • Other administrative duties as required
  • Assist Managing Director and Directors with secretarial matters


  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree/Professional Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent (ACCA/CIMA/MICPA)
  • Candidates with accounting background and/or prior Accounting related working experience will be preferred
  • Experience with Xero is a benefit
  • Service minded with very strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of Singapore laws, tax and regulations
  • Strong computer literacy, proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and cloud based software is a must
  • Excellent analytical skills, reliability, adaptable and able to work under pressure
  • Bilingual in English and Mandarin as need to liaise with Mandarin speaking customers


  • Salary: $3,500-$4,500 per month
  • CPF + benefits
