Applications Development Senior Manager is a senior management level position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department in an effort to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team.
We are seeking for a Techno-Functional Lead position for Credit Risk and Lending platform for Citi Global Wealth Management business. The successful candidate will be lead for application development, Solutioning & technology road map for the organization by conducting evaluation, choosing the best Technical framework, and providing proven solutions for all technical and business requirements. Work with Development team and support delivery of solutions across board. Candidate will interact with the key stakeholders from product, risk, operations, and other teams for handling of application activities & new projects.
He/she requires exceptional communication skills across both technology and the business and will have a high degree of visibility. The candidate will be a rigorous technical manager with a strong understanding of how to build scalable, enterprise level global applications. The ideal candidate will be dependable and resourceful software professional who can comfortably work in a large development team in a globally distributed, dynamic work environment that fosters diversity, teamwork and collaboration.

  • Manage one or more Applications Development teams in an effort to accomplish established goals
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge and skills across multiple Applications Development areas to provide technical oversight across systems and applications
  • Review and analyze proposed technical solutions for projects in accordance to the architectural guidelines
  • Contribute to formulation of strategies for applications development and other functional areas
  • Lead, track and drive the progress of the project deliverables (requirements, development, testing, operational readiness, data readiness etc.) to ensure timely delivery
  • Support as SME for Design, code, test, document and implement application release projects as part of development team.
  • Partner with various teams - Investment Finance, Risk, Operations and Technology teams for solution planning and integration
  • Proactively notify program manager for risks, bottlenecks, problems, issues, and concerns. Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Compliance with Citi's System Development Lifecycle and Information Security requirements
  • Manage offshore development team through effective virtual management experience.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members. Promotes teamwork and builds strong relationships within and across global teams
  • Ability to push an agenda in a matrix environment through influencing and collaboration
  • Deliver effective communication and report on initiatives to various levels including senior leadership.
  • Flexibility to handle multiple complex projects and changing priorities
  • Promotes continuous process improvement especially in code quality, testability & reliability
  • Impact the Applications Development area through monitoring delivery of end results, participate in budget management, and handling day-to-day staff management issues, including resource management and allocation of work within the team/project

  • Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Software development and minimum 5 years of experience in leading globally distributed development teams successfully
  • Experience in developing large scale applications involving technologies such as - Java, Angular, Oracle DB, JMS/MQ, Kakfa Messaging Queue, App Server like WAS, Weblogic and Tomcat.
  • Experience in developing application with cloud architecture - using Java, Spring Boot, APIs, Distributed Cache, Messaging architectures, micro-services is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge on Agile, SDLC process, UAT and Business Analysis process.
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum based development methodology
  • Domain knowledge in Credit Risk Lending, Wealth management area will be advantageous
  • Stakeholder and people management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and project management skills
  • Basic knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Strong analytical, algorithmic, and problem-solving skills
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

  • Education:
  • Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master's degree preferred
