Job overview

The Field Service Assistant Manager supports the Head of Division in helping to coordinate and ensure that the assigned projects such as installation, decommission, repair and maintenance of equipment are stays on track, on spec and on schedule. Also, responsible to help track project milestones and liaise with HQ in Japan and supports coordination activities and communication to ensure project goals are achieved and communicated to the appropriate parties and is require to identify gaps or obstacles that may affect the project progression. Additional responsibilities may include facilitation information sharing across different teams, providing support to Field Service/Customer Support HOD and Management as needed as well as people management.


Responsibilities and Duties

- Track and monitors progress to plan and communicates the appropriate project information to all relevant team members and stakeholders

- Supports FS/CS HODs in performing risk planning and analysis (quantitative and qualitative), including risk identification and risk response planning.

- Effectively and consistently helps to prepare and communicate overall project status, challenges and gaps to team members and management team.

- Helps to identify and resolve conflicts and issues quickly and efficiently

- Works on various assignments, such a researching detail to identify gaps, creating update presentations, reviewing costs against budget and other assigned projects

- Provide technical support and guidance to field engineers and customers

- Ensures smooth running of daily operations in own engineering team. Monitors and controls customer equipment performance indices and ensure that scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) is carried out when required by customers.

- Proposes CIP initiatives to higher management.

- Liaises with customers directly to ensure work is carried out efficiently to meet customers needs.

- Reviews document work procedures and corrective actions conducted by Engineers.

- Plans resources and monitors parts and tools purchases.

- Participates in the capacity of the lead auditee for ISO and other audit initiatives for engineering matters.

- Proposes plans and strategies to management to improve customers needs.

- Supports Manager to ensure smooth running of daily operations.

- Monitors and controls customer equipment performance indices and ensure that scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) is carried out when required by customers.

- Supports Manager to review document work procedures and corrective actions conducted by Engineers.

- Proposes plans and strategies to management to improve customers needs.


Requirements:

1. Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronic/ Triple Es Engineering

2. 7 years relevant industry experience as well as experience large, complex engineering development projects across functional teams

3. Experience in handling and managing Advanced Energy Engineering & Design (AEED) & Focal-Plate Deviation (FPD) work processes.

4. Knowledge of machine design fundamental, CAD, drafting, precision machines design skills

5. Attention to detail and good understanding of physical principles governing machine behaviour

6. Effective verbal & written communication skills, a positive attitude, an open mindset and team-oriented individual

7. Must be self-driven resourceful and organized

8. Able to work in an environment with heavy multi-site engineering and cross functional collaboration

9. Able to travel both domestically and internationally

10. Thorough understanding of Engineering project/ program management techniques and methods

11. Proven ability to establish and build healthy working relationships and partnerships with business leaders, peers, clients and team; effectively engaging all pertinent stakeholders both internal and external

12. Ability to filter and distil relevant information for the right audience.

13. Self-motivated and dedicated with demonstrated creative critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

14. Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills

15. Independence initiative and drive to lead projects and move them forward

16. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

17. MS Project experience is an advantage

18. Japanese speaking
