Job Summary


The Coordinator / Executive is responsible for the planning, expansion, and effective delivery of Japanese programmes (including Aquatics, Sports & Recreation, Camps) for the Japanese community in Singapore.


Job Description


Programme Management

  • Ensure that programmes are implemented according to policies and procedures
  • Evaluate and improve programme effectiveness according to participants needs.
  • Plan programme curriculum, costing and procurement of YMCA products.
  • Set risk management procedures.
  • Develop marketing strategies together with programmes team to promote and expand programmes and new initiatives targeting Japanese families.
  • Carry out lessons, facilitate and teach effectively



Programme Administration


  • Regular update of records and registration of participants, fees, and payments.
  • Prepare and implement annual goals and budget for the Japanese section.
  • Recruit and train junior staff, instructors and volunteers, in programme running, safety issues, class management, and conflict resolution.

Collaboration with Stakeholders


  • Support Programmes team in organizing combined events including annual sports meet.
  • Create opportunities for warm and positive contact between participants, parents, and instructors. This includes conducting regular parent-instructor meetings addressing participant development and feedback for improvements.
  • Handle all feedback raised by parents or participants in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Develop a network of relationships with the local Japanese community, including schools, churches, embassy, and corporations to expand the work of the Metropolitan YMCA.
  • Build good relationship and contact with relevant Singapore institutions and agencies
  • Attend all Japanese programme related activities or meetings.

Requirements


  • Minimum Diploma in Sports/Physical Education/Outdoor Education with preferably 2 years of experience
  • Assist in conducting Swimming Classes
  • Basic command of Japanese Language will be an added advantage (To attend to parents and participants enquiries)
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Energetic individual with a positive attitude
  • Able to deliver lessons and facilitate effectively
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders
