The Role Responsibilities
This role along with the team will work with key stakeholders across the bank to manage the monitoring solutions for Trade / SS related products. Develop AML scenarios to address the red flags and translate the knowledge with technical experts. Validate the technical implementation and ensure effective monitoring is in place. The role will work to create new models and build on pre-existing model management and monitoring processes using business and technical knowledge and tools, such as Python, Hadoop, Spark, Tableau, SQL and other tools used in predictive and prescriptive analytics.
The primary purpose of this role is to act as a first line of defence for the CFCC and business teams and ensure that the function's existing and emerging risks are adequately monitored periodically to ensure they track within pre-agreed thresholds and metrics that fall in line with risk appetite of both CFCC and the individual business segments. The role will be responsible for conducting the technical processes required to produce the periodical statistics, presenting them, further refining them, and recommending changes to models based on findings from the monitoring process itself.
Processes

  • Individual contributor - Maintain high standard of delivery and ensure no high / medium audit findings.

  • Understand business domain aspects relevant to AML Monitoring and Case Management.

  • Learn and adapt internal departmental activities and follow diligently.

  • Data analytical expert who should be able to understand the business requirement and provide automated solution in DevOps model.

  • Review all System change management, Business rule validations, Enhancements and Detection Scenario implementation.

  • Review for changes or remediation activities impacting normal transaction monitoring processing for the relevant Product/Segments

  • Review and Analyze Product Artefacts, identifying any anomalies and tracking resolution with applicable implementation teams

  • Good communication and follow-ups with various stake holders on support activities where applicable.


Risk Management

  • Apply Group and FCC policies and processes (AML monitoring) to manage risks.

  • Escalate timely on issues in banks product and segment systems impacting transaction monitoring effectiveness

  • Assessment on prioritization of upstream changes impacting Transaction Monitoring across relevant Product and Segment areas


Governance

  • Provide inputs to line manager on relevant business / segment / product related and provide updates to working group meeting actionable.

  • Ensure Product and Segment related matters impacting monitoring are raised and tracked in relevant FCC and Upstream Governance Committees

  • Support by providing inputs to line manager on major Transaction Monitoring matters impacting Product or Segment areas, where required

  • Provide subject matter expert advice, guidance, and support to the project managers on managing change.

  • Ability to work in Agile environment.

  • Review new business requirements and provide solutions where required.

  • Participate in system change management processes and implement the changes with at most care.


Business

  • Support relevant stakeholders to make decisions based on current and possible future policies, practices, and trends.


Strategy

  • Ensure that there is adequate support (people, processes, tools, frameworks, systems) in the respective team for necessary FCSO-PMM controls.

Other Responsibilities

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 3 years of experience in Business Analyst covering the Surveillance systems (Specifically Transaction Monitoring)

  • Experience in programming tools such as PySpark, python, HIVE, HIVE Infra, HDFS, RDBMS SQL is mandatory. DevOPs skillset bitbucket, Jenkins is added advantage.

  • Mathematical and statistical skills are also valuable to help gather, measure, organize, and analyse data.

  • Functional business knowledge or prior experience in Trade or security services or payment systems

  • Working experience with integration systems or compliance systems preferred.

  • Analysis skills: able to analyse data trends and out of pattern activities, working knowledge on data models and construct SQL queries and extract data for the given business requirement
