Job Descriptions
The Business Intelligence (BI) Manager will be part of the current business management team. The BI Manager is responsible to drive and build BI capabilities in Asia Pacific Japan region to transform data into actionable insights to support and enhance strategic & tactical business decisions in growing the business.
The HP Industrial Print Business has aggressive revenue goals pegged against a tremendous market opportunity with the broadest and most unique portfolio in the industry. The role will be expected to interact and work closely with the region sales, category teams, operation teams and worldwide BI team in implementing timely and meaningful business analysis, reports and dashboards with the aim to solve business problems, facilitate better business decisions and delivering data that matters to sales and business. Ultimately, build the capability to allow predictability in business.
What a Business Intelligence Manager does at HP:
  • Lead the regional BI program in close cooperation with the WW BI team and his/her counterparts in other regions.
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions: Craft and execute queries upon request for data, create visualizations and reports to present information.
  • Understand business needs and opportunities to propose solid analysis methodology and alternatives. Comprehend Sales and category stakeholders requirements to implement accessible and meaningful data reports.
  • Translate business needs to technical specifications. Advice business contacts of existing solutions to prevent duplication and support them to align with their counterparts across the organization.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure and WW BI teams to get and build proper data infrastructure. Conduct unit testing and troubleshooting, improve existing BI systems, collaborate with teams to integrate systems, develop, and update technical documentation.
  • Seek efficiencies in data collection and aggregation through automation. Minimize or eliminate manual steps and construct automated reporting solutions.

Individuals who do well in this role at HP, usually possess:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Commerce, Economics, or Data Science fields.
  • 7-10 years of working experience with a proven track record with performance management and business intelligence.
  • Demonstrated business management expertise.
  • Proven experience as a BI Developer or, with Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, and similar technologies.
  • Advanced Knowledge in SQL programming.
  • MDX, DAX, MS Power Apps, Excel Macros and VBA, SharePoint, HTML, Python, R programing knowledge and exposure to Machine Learning are a bonus.
  • Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modeling) and data mining.
  • Strong data visualization skills to provide seamless user experience.
  • Strong analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
  • Project management and Process Improvement acquaintance.
  • Proactive, self-starter with excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders to drive collaboration and alignment.
  • High degree of organization, individual initiative, and personal accountability.
