Digital Engineer (BIM)
Digital Engineering is a career pathway within Lendlease which enables the professionalises the practice and discipline of Integrated Digital Delivery. Our Digital Engineers are subject matter expert practitioners in in digitalisation, developing best practices and implementing technology to improve how we work in design & construction.
The role of the Digital Engineer is to implement BIM/VDC processes and technology throughout the lifecycle of a project from development, design, pre-construction and construction to handover activities. The Digital Engineer will assist project teams to extract insights and assist project management using BIM and other digital processes on either one large scale project or multiple small projects at a time. You will participate in implementing tools and techniques in support of integrated digital delivery on our projects including VR/AR, laser scanning, drones, photogrammetry, and field productivity tools.
The Digital Engineer may work with project teams in both office and project site environments. The successful applicant must be willing to work on project sites in industrial locations.
Applications are invited from candidates with a proven track record of practical implementation and operation of BIM/ VDC processes and other digital engineering fields.
Essential Job Functions, Duties and Responsibilities
  • Produce design models for feasibility studies for concept design stage. Develop supporting diagrams, images, and animations for bids.
  • Production of site plans, models, animations and renderings, 4D scheduling, and carry out design/ clash coordination and reporting for use in design & construction activity by the project team.
  • Interface with project team within Lendlease, our design consultants and our nominated sub-contractors to effectively integrate BIM into the delivery process.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of BIM on a project including 4D (sequencing), 5D (quantity) and the handover of 6D (asset data).
  • Ensure drawings, models and attributes are completed to the desired quality, programme & budget including audits to ensure they're fit for purpose.
  • Assist with upskilling of project personnel in support of BIM/ VDC workflows and implementation of collaboration platforms (Revizto, BIM360) and digital engineering practices. Including both Lendlease, consultant and sub-contractor BIM teams.

General Background and Minimum Requirements
The successful candidate will possess:
  • Good communication skills in English in both written (procedures, reports) and verbal (presentations, meetings) mediums.
  • Demonstrable experience in Digital Project Delivery of large multidisciplinary projects. At least 3 years of relevant experience in the AEC industry with experience of projects under construction.
  • Well versed in the use of BIM for construction documentation. Understanding of construction detailing and techniques.
  • Proficient in 3D parametric modeling software experience with model coordination, rendering and animation software a plus
  • Experience with Autodesk Revit and Autodesk Navisworks software for authoring and coordination is a minimum requirement.
  • Familiarity with any of the following is an advantage:
    Revizto, BIM360, Synchro, PlanGrid, Enscape, Lumion, Unreal, Unity, Photoshop, Premier Pro
  • Ability and experience in leveraging digital technologies in the field (ie. Drones, LIDAR scanning, 360 cameras) will be an advantage.
  • Self-Motivated with a passion for BIM/digital delivery as a discipline
  • Solid understanding of BIM as a process
  • Relevant Architectural, Engineering, Information management or BIM qualifications.
