Job Description

  • The primary duty of the Data Analyst is to ensure that there is a reliable, timely and accurate source of data as foundation for all key departmental functions which includes Analytics, Business Intelligence/Reporting and Campaign Management
  • In addition to that, this role also entails providing ad-hoc support for campaign management, data analysis, data mining, data visualisation, and preparing presentations of the findings so that the insights can be shared with management and other departments. His or her work will frequently overlap with other areas and there will be ample opportunities to pick up knowledge in different areas of the company

  • Timely execution of tasks assigned by Customer Analytics Manager
  • Accuracy and timeliness of data, and user friendliness of Data Mart design
  • Ability to produce data visualisations and business charts that are accurate, complete (capturing all relevant details), easy to understand, and visually appealing
  • Basic competency in programming languages, statistical software, and database platforms that are adopted by Aviva (SQL, R, Python, Hadoop).
  • Create Health data Warehouse, combining data from Retail Health (RCS), Group data from Elixer, TPA data and data from the appointed Risk Manager
  • Furthermore produce data visualisation for this specific Health Data Mart that allows interrogation of the data by business leaders.

  • A fully automated, accurate and timely Analytics Data Mart that serves as foundation for all key departmental functions
  • Initiatives to enhance existing Analytics Data Mart by adding new fields to enrich existing information (including exploring the feasibility of incorporating unstructured data into existing data mart, e.g. Motor quotes shopper data )
  • Work with consultants and/or internal resources to develop clustering, customer segmentation and predictive models

The position is Singapore based with support for the merged entity of Aviva Singlife.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree with honours in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related analytical fields
  • Some project experience related to data mining or statistical analysis highly preferred
  • Insurance domain knowledge

  • Working knowledge of the following software platforms:
  • Advance skills in SQL programming
  • Qlik View/ Qlik Sense
  • Experience with Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, or other enterprise database platforms
  • Knowledge and experience on Hadoop will be a plus
  • Python and R
