Internal job description is:
The International Emerging (EM) Marketplaces finance team is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst for a new position. This role will be responsible for driving standardization and automation of tools for the benefit of Amazon’s newly launched countries. They will develop an approach to prioritise requests, focusing on areas that will have the greatest financial and productivity impacts. They will work closely with in country finance teams to understand requirements, scope out tools and then build solutions that can drive benefits across multiple countries. The focus area for this new role will be to deliver tools and programmes that will help drive improvements in long term free cash flow, incorporating learnings from Established Marketplaces.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and will possess the ability to work well with cross-functional and cross country teams. They will also be proficient in building complex data analytic tools.
This role is ideally suitable for someone who has worked in Amazon Retail Finance previously and therefore can easily become an expert in delivering tools for Retail and Retail finance use.
Key responsibilities:
Prioritising initiatives and managing Stakeholders
· Work with EM finance teams to define and prioritise projects/initiatives that would positively impact long term free cash flow. For example, a dashboard for evaluating promotional effectiveness across countries.
· Implement a mechanism for keeping stakeholders updated on progress and impact. Key stakeholders include EM Finance leads and FD for LATAM, EU and APAC expansions.
Build scalable tools and automation
· Deliver scalable tools for use by at least 3 countries, in the area of margin enhancement and driving topline growth. Ensure that once built, tools can easily be refreshed for ongoing us.
· Work with global teams to understand the roadmap for full automation to best identify the tools required to bridge that gap.
Share learnings and best practice
· Build network across EM finance teams to ensure best practices are frequently shared and learnings captured.
· For Promotions specifically, lead an ongoing forum for reviewing promotional effectiveness, identifying successful mechanics for driving HVAs.
Basic Qualifications :
· 8+ years of relevant experience in a corporate environment
· 5+ years Commercial Finance experience
· 5+ years experience with Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications :
· Strong analytic skills and a demonstrated ability to build and manage quantitative models for problem solving, evaluating business performance and setting targets
· Experience with data warehouse systems (SQL)
· Experience with financial and accounting systems
· Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail
· Ability to work with cross functional teams, dive deep into the details
· Ability to influence without authority and hold others to account on commitments
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work independently to prioritise workloads, escalating issues where required to progress
· Results and impact focused
· Desire and ability to connect with a broad network across multiple countries to increase impact of role.
