Working for the Product Owner of JPMC's public cloud platform, Atlas, the Head Of APAC Public Cloud Strategy is accountable for driving the public cloud strategy for the APAC region along with regional initiatives to deliver on this strategy. The Atlas platform provides all core services associated with consuming public cloud within the JPMC technology environment: account management, identity & access management, inventory management, telemetry, networking and integration into all JPMC systems for control and governance. In addition to this, the Atlas Marketplace delivers approved cloud products from AWS, GCP and Azure to lines of business for integration into their applications.
JPMC is driving a Cloud First strategy and, as a result, this is a critical role for enabling the modernization of our application estate in the region. As Head of APAC Public Cloud Strategy you will be responsible for defining the regional strategy including Cloud Service Provider (CSP) selection and rollout, regional placement guidelines and working with stakeholders across all lines of business to understand priority feature enhancement requests to enable adoption of cloud. You will partner closely with Line of Business architecture functions to agree modernization dependencies and timelines and work with the global platform team to ensure they are represented in the overall book of work. Given the complexities of the regulatory environment in the region, you will act as a key participant in cloud-related discussions with MAS, HMKA, OJK, etc.
The successful candidate will have experience of driving public cloud strategy in the region, ideally in a financial markets environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the APAC public cloud strategy
  • Work with the application and architecture community in the region to understand drivers, priorities and blockers
  • Deliver key initiatives that drive the regional strategy (eg regional rollout of AWS)
  • Build out a community of cloud practitioners in the region to drive best practice
  • Provide timely responses, feedback and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies such as MAS, HKMA & OJK
  • Provide an APAC lens during Product Increment (PI) planning
  • Providing visibility to the region of the overall book of work, progress and new features

Skills Required
  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Experience of driving public cloud strategy, ideally in financial markets
  • Solid understanding of the public cloud capabilities of AWS, GCP or Azure
  • Ability to prioritize a broad set of competing demands and succinctly summarize the rationale for decisions
  • Ability to run planning sessions across a large number of engineering teams
  • Ability to work with a broad set of stakeholders from across Lines of Business, Engineers, other Product Owners and Architecture
  • Good communications and team building
  • Ideally, experience of Terraform, Sentinel, Jira, Jira Align, Confluence, etc

This is a critical role in both the Cloud Foundational Services product line and in JPMC's public cloud program.
