Job Description

The Host/Hostess greets arriving guests, welcomes them into the establishment and escorts them to the dining room to seat them and ensures that those entering have a positive outlook of the Restaurant.

Duties

  • Manage reservations and seating arrangements
  • Maintain the menus and host stand
  • Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables
  • Estimates wait times for guests and monitor the guest waiting list
  • Ensures that the needs of the guests are met
  • Book reservations and move tables together to accommodate large parties
  • When required, he/she is expected to perform the basic tasks of a waiter including tasks like bringing dishes to guests and helping in the clearing and setting of tables.
  • Facilitate effective communication and engagement at the workplace.
  • Facilitate effective work teams.
  • Maintain workplace safety and health policies and procedures
  • Solve problems and make decisions at supervisory level
  • Carry out any other duties as required by management
