We are looking for a seasoned integrated marketing specialist with strong industry marketing experience to join the Central Marketing Organization (CMO) to support the Enterprise and Corporate business segments.
The Central Marketing Organization (CMO) is anchored around a shared purpose for Customer Centricity, Marketing Thought Leadership, and Marketing and Sales Alignment. CMO builds strategic partnerships across Corp HQ and the Area to drive a digitally transformed, connected go-to-market.
The Industry Marketing Manager (IMM) role owns the integrated marketing plan for your focus area, aligned to sales and industry marketing plays, acquiring new business decision maker contacts, and accelerating new business within the focused industries. You will need to build plans to activate the market and create the content, programs, and assets across the customer lifecycle to activate a wide variety of marketing channels including digital, social, industry events and workshops. The Industry IMM leads strategic integrated marketing planning discussions bringing deep audience, competitive insights and marketing data to inform marketing plans and prioritize investments.
  • As a seasoned integrated marketing expert, you work with Sales and Marketing leaders across the company to advise on marketing strategy leveraging and scaling global go-to-market approaches and centralized demand generation plans and augmenting with local activities where critical.
  • Leveraging Microsoft's narrative for the prioritized industries to create a marketing execution strategy including shared goals & objectives, audience targeting, content, assets & programs needed to deliver against the marketing goals for the industry (in partnership with country field marketing teams).
  • Lending industry expertise with passion for customer, understanding respective industry trends, leading with digital storytelling skills to increase Microsoft's market relevance in the prioritized industries, and engaging the buying committee across the buying lifecycle and across our customer segments.
  • Creating a content map aligned to business outcomes and cross-solution plays and work collaboratively across the integrated marketing engines to acquire new business decision maker (BDM) audience and increase engagement of existing customers.
  • You champion how we successfully engage BDM scale through Industry relevant narratives and marketing programs designed to support prioritized verticals in your area. As an Industry go-to-market expert, you ensure marketing execution is optimized to achieve local business goals and inspire our customers to significantly advance in their Digital Transformation journey.
  • You will deliver campaign execution excellence leading a virtual team of local marketing stakeholders Solution Area Product Marketing Managers (PMM), Partner Marketing Advisors (PMAs) and sales and segment teams.
  • You partner with CMO Shared Services in Events, Social and Data Insights to align local executions across all marketing channels and ensure all activities are set up properly in our tools and systems to enable tracking, reporting and local optimization.
  • A data-driven marketer, you leverage marketing insights dashboards to drive marketing planning decisions with local stakeholders, product marketing and lead connected sales and marketing discussions with Sales. The role requires an understanding of the sales organization's priorities and key focus areas.
  • Strong operational management:
    • Manage and support annual planning and budget processes. Create alignment and clarity.
    • Ensure relevant marketing executions are properly set up in systems and tools for tracking reporting.
    • 100% budget utilization for your prioritized industries - Effective and accurate forecasting and spend of marketing budgets.
    • Lead Microsoft brand stewardship, ensure GDPR compliance and adhere to Microsoft Accessibility Standards and Diversity and Inclusion principles in all marketing executions.

  • 10+ years of proven experience in digital marketing, content marketing or marketing communications. preferably with financial services, retail and/or manufacturing industry experience.
  • connected sales and marketing experience. strong understanding of sales priorities and motivations and ability to advocate for marketing in conversations with sales organizations to ensure optimal customer experiences and success.
  • able to demonstrate a strong growth mindset, inspiring optimism and focused on the business outcomes.
  • strong leadership presence, experience working with sales leadership and track record of marketing impact and influence a must. innate ability to navigate through a complex matrixed organization to lead process changes and deliver execution excellence.
  • must be a data-driven marketer. must be comfortable reading and analyzing data, using it to inform marketing plans and prioritize investments and leading data discussions with key business stakeholders.
  • must be inspired by digital marketing execution, embrace marketing automation concepts, and be obsessed with delivering a compelling customer experience through relevant, connected customer engagement.
  • experience in working at large global multi-national corporation is a plus.
  • bachelor's degree (b.s./b.a.) or equivalent work experience required. mba degree preferred but not required.
