Job Description

Infrastructure Solutions Designer / Consultant

  • The Infrastructure Solutions Designer is responsible to design & implement cost effective & secure Cloud-based or traditional information systems that can be operated optimally to support the business lines. 
  • This position is stakeholder-facing that requires you to articulate solutions while also being able to establish and manage expectations with the business lines
  • Technical Expertise :Private, Hybrid or Public Cloud, MS Infrastructure Products, 


  • Work with PMO, Enterprise Architects and Solutions Architects to understand infrastructure needs and goals
  • Consolidate and communicate the needs to the infrastructure leadership team for systems, network and telephony 
  • Enable planning and sizing of infrastructure needs to achieve the goals of reliability, performance and scalability in coordination with application teams and vendors as needed
  • Understand and develop the interlocks to different functions of IT Shared Servers (IT Service Desk, Systems, Network and Telephony Infrastructure, and Applications)
  • Work with Project Managers, Business Owners, Service Owners, Managed Service Partners, Operations teams and 3rd parties to ensure that projects are delivered in accordance with operating norms
  • Ensuring that services can be managed, operated and supported in accordance with constraints specified during the service design stage of the service lifecycle
  • Direct consideration of infrastructure capacity planning in Solutions Design
  • Lead/update/understand and champion the measurement process by which Service Level Reviews are accessed including the submission and completion of monthly scorecard. Oversee the completion and set expectations associated with misses as well as highlight successes. 
  • Define expectations / approve plans for service improvement, problem remediation and resolution. Review the reports associated with the plans to ensure timelines, accuracy and control.
Vendor Management
  • Manage outward communication to vendors to facilitate understanding and awareness of organisational strategic direction, changes and challenges 
  • Manage the interaction between vendors and internal program delivery leaders to provide adequate visibility of interdependent initiatives and programs
  • BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience preferred
  • At least 10 years performing a Solutions Designer role in an Internal IT function.
  • Some experience in a similar role in a Service Provider is beneficial. 
  • Proven track record of delivering solutions/projects within defined timelines 
  • Able to partake and contribute to highly complex, multi-disciplined solutions design. 
  • Problem Solver: Able to overcome barriers without compromising processes and operational stability 
  • Customer management: tactful, resolute and committed to providing excellent customer service 
  • Must be able to interact with senior stakeholders on a regular basis 
Technical Expertise
  • Private, Hybrid or Public Cloud (Key area - MS Azure, AWS, etc)
  • Microsoft Windows infrastructure products 
  • CISCO Networking 
  • Avaya Telephony 
Professional Certification:
  • Certifications in Cloud Technologies
  • Certifications in Microsoft infrastructure technologies 
  • ITIL v. 3 Certified 
  • Possess Project Management certification (PRINCE etc)
