Job Description :
  • Involved in design and development of analytical and life science instrument with optics and photonics as imaging or scanning detection method. Select and qualify light source (laser, LED), lens, filters, detector, etc. Conduct experiments and optical performance testing at part and instrument level, process signal, image and data, write and present report, conduct failure analysis and investigate root cause, propose and verify solutions. Exposure to product design and development process.
  • Investigate new concepts and technologies for new platform; investigate new R&D ideas to enhance product performance.
  • Design setup and tester for evaluation and investigation
  • Support engineering and production, failure analysis and write report
  • Read papers and understand design principle and mathematics of optical design, particularly freeform optics based reflector and beam shaper design for light emitting diode (LED) in order to have unique and innovative design with high optical efficiency and uniform illumination.
  • Mathematical derivation and simulation (MathCAD, MATLAB, optical software ZEMAX and ASAP). It is fine if you do not have experience with those software tools. We will provide training opportunity.

  • Nice to have optics, photonics, physics or bioengineering background, but not necessary

  • Get exposure and involvement in industrial MNC R&D on how to design and develop commercial product from concept to product launch.
  • Experience in theory, modeling, physical prototypes and hands on testing.
  • Experience and training in real environment on how to tackle challenging work and enhance troubleshooting skills
