This role has direct contribution to graduate employment. This Career Consultant is the go-to person to share up-to-date information with students pertaining to employers’ hiring needs, screening process and upcoming events. This Career Consultant is the bridge between employers and students, organizing recruitment events to enable students to network with employers, bringing them one-step closer to securing employment in these sectors.
Responsibilities:

  • This Career Consultant (CC) will be assigned to the ICT sector to helm, build and sustain close relationships with employers. Apart from curating good paying job opportunities, this CC needs to understand the range of services that NTU’s Career Attachment Office (CAO) provides and readily share with employers during meetings. Where there are opportunities to connect to other teams in CAO to deepen collaboration with employers, this CC will actively facilitate.

  • As the Account Manager for the ICT sector, this CC needs to regularly keep tabs of new development in these sectors and know what their employers look for when hiring graduates. This information will be shared regularly with students via various channels, e.g. CAO’s Weekly eblast.

  • This CC’s other key role is to engage students via different outreach mechanism, providing advisory services to students who want to know more about specific sectors/employers, skillsets which will give them the competitive edge, progression pathway, interview process etc.

  • This CC actively works with employers with immediate hiring needs to plan and organize industry-specific Recruitment Talks either on or off-campus.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree preferably in disciplines relevant to the specific domains/industries

  • Passionate in developing and coaching students to achieve their career aspirations

  • Proven competency in building and developing long-term relationship with industry partners

  • Possess strong initiative, self-motivated and achievement-oriented

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to build rapport, motivate and inspire young people

  • Minimum 5 years of work experience with good insights in the ICT sector

  • Possess prior experience in events planning and execution, marketing.

  • Had managed teams previously or possess prior supervisory experience

  • Able to work within tight deadlines, detailed-oriented and able to think out of the box when solving problems.
