This position will provide product support for a variety of elevator components and mechanical systems. The position will play a crucial role in maintaining product integrity, evaluating opportunities, and integrating new component designs into existing systems, and existing elevator system at modernization, while working to meet agreed upon cost and schedule commitments.
The candidate should be able to interpret schematics, layout drawings, mechanical assembly drawings, and sometimes building plans in order to analyze complex problems and identify root cause issues and develop innovative solutions. The ability to work across engineering disciplines with mechanical engineers, Otis worldwide components development engineers, and test engineers is required.
The candidate must be a self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills and be able to collaborate effectively working on cross-functional teams in order to work closely with manufacturing operations, supply management, contract logistics, finance, and field support to ensure designs are compatible with requirements from across the organization. Develop new mechanical standard mod products based on product gap and demandsdefined at program System Requirement (SysR), enhance, harmonize, and localize developed products.

Problems are typically within a single area of responsibility and are typically solved through exercise of discretion and / or judgment, often drawing from prior experiences or standard procedures and basic analysis.

Communicates with parties within and outside of own team to explain facts, policies, and practices related to work area.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 0-5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience

Preferred Skills:
  • Working knowledge of traction elevator products preferred
  • Manufacturing process of steel sheet bending/blanking/cutting/forming, casting, forging, and machining
  • 2D Manufacturing drawings creation, FEA analysis, strength calculations
  • Ability to work with suppliers/3rd parties
  • Experience with test and measurement equipment
  • Understanding of electrical functions
  • CAD tools (Creo, Pro/e, AutoCAD and/or others.)
  • Strong communications skills and leadership ability
  • MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
