Job summary
Would you like to be part of a team that is helping Amazon redefine the future of renewable energy and sustainability The AWS Strategic Infrastructure Partnerships team is looking for a creative, analytical, technical and strategic business developer to help identify, evaluate, negotiate, and close high-impact energy partnership agreements who is passionate about the both energy and renewables space, and advancing growth initiatives of Amazon's businesses.

The ideal candidate enjoys addressing tough challenges and thrives in a fast-paced setting that is constantly evolving, and has experience in renewable development, power purchasing, enterprise IT, corporate development and business development. She/he must be very comfortable working with customers, also have the ability to influence senior decision makers, and drive consensus within cross-functional teams including sales, finance, and legal while working to help Amazon deliver its goals of 100% Renewable Energy and Net Zero Carbon.

You will be responsible for managing and cultivating multiple partners that span several strategic categories. This role will be highly visible at senior levels of Amazon, and will work collaboratively with internal teams to map partner capabilities with Amazon needs, create opportunities that can range from early-stage to mature. You will leverage your business acumen to set the trajectory for senior leaders to action your plan, engage pursuits, and execute.

Key job responsibilities
. Identify leads, evaluate opportunities, negotiate and close strategic partnership agreements that span energy, infrastructure and IT services.
. Execute collaboration agreements that benefit Amazon's Climate Pledge goals
. Work cross-functionally with teams spanning sales, marketing, infrastructure, energy, sustainability, water, IT, finance, legal, and operations
. Develop strategies to capture new opportunities across energy markets globally.
. Continuously improve our processes to enable spending more time with customers


. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required - Engineering/Economics/Business/Finance.
. 10+ years of relevant business development or technical sales experience required
. Experience developing, negotiating energy, sustainability partnerships with enterprise companies.


. Master's Degree (MBA/MS)
. 15+ years of experience in energy markets, financing, contract negotiations, renewable energy development, generation technologies
. Proven ability to evaluate new business models, policies, agreements for energy, cleantech, or sustainability
. Experience building relationships and working with industry stakeholders, such as utilities, global energy companies, and OEMs.
. The ability to manage and prioritize multiple simultaneous projects with minimal direction
. Prove understand of software/IT tools used in the energy industry and Cloud enablement.
. Excellent speaking-listening-writing skills and attention to details.
. Be a passionate self-starter
. Proven track record for cultivating strong relationships with internal stakeholders, vendors, or customers
. Meets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
. Meets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role
