Big Data Engineer - IVT Team
We are working on the biggest challenges the industry faces and are in a search of the world’s most creative and experienced engineers that wish to build bold and exciting new products. This position is unique in that you will be required to not only be an engineer but also a visionary at heart, with the mandate and authority to decide on how to execute on a product’s vision - from choice of technologies through to prioritization and ending in setting milestones and timelines.
The position entails research, design and development of methods and algorithms used for identifying various types of anomalies in massive data sets as well as productizing said algorithms. As part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for data processing flows which includes collection, storage and processing of data at massive scale using technologies such as Spark, Hadoop and Docker.
We are looking for a proactive and autonomous person that can identify a path forward and execute on it and has both a passion for hands on development of distributed systems as well as loves solving complex problems in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Requirements
• At least 3 years of industry experience in similar positions
• B.Sc. in Computer Science or 8200/81/Kehiliya alumnus
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Map/Reduce, Pig/Hive etc.
• Experience with dynamic programming languages such as Python or Ruby
• Experience with Java/Scala and its ecosystem (e.g. Gradle)
• A willingness to learn new and exciting technologiesDesign, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
