Job Description

Purpose of Position

Reporting to their respective Programme Manager, the Care Ambassadors will work towards the service requirements stipulated by the funders and LBSA for Befriending services and AACs.

He/she is entrusted with the key responsibility to assist current programme staff in providing buddying, befriending services and/or activities to seniors according to the new eldercare (EC) model. In addition, he/she will work colleagues from Befriending and AACs to co-plan and support integrated programmes/activities that can be home-based and/or offsite extended from the Centre, and which can contribute to the overall 5 dimensions of well-being of seniors.

Job Requirements:

  • Community Outreach - Assist in outreach events i.e. door-knocking, needs assessment, info-sharing session.
  • Relationship Management - Support community and networking partners in joint efforts to serve the needs of the seniors.
  • Recruitment of Members - Assist to promote and advertise AAC programme to seniors in designated blocks. Coordinate Community Screener Tool assessments of new seniors for AACs
  • Serving Seniors - Ensure all seniors are contacted based on service requirements. Submit check call reports of seniors engagement and help address needs of seniors. Document/input important info of seniors and data for reporting purposes to funders & sponsors
  • Programme & Activities - Work closely with AAC PEs & BEs to integrate and deliver Centre programmes and activities to BnB seniors at home/off-site, according to LB's upcoming 4-Strategy Programme Strategy.
  • Volunteer Management - Engage and support volunteers for LB's programmes & activities
  • Administration & Reports - Register and/or update seniors data into CVWO. Support AACs in collecting and reporting programme and seniors data etc.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum O levels
  • Passionate in working with Seniors
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Meticulous and detailed
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Able to work in the evenings and on weekends if when required
  • Enjoy working with seniors and volunteers
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Good interpersonal skills, a team player, yet able to work independently
  • Good communications skills, preferably bilingual with dialects
  • Dynamic, quick thinking, adaptable and responsive to change
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated
