Job Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced and motivated Smart City Business Development Manager in providing highly scalable, flexible and repeatable Smart City solutions that address Public Sector customer business issues and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. The ideal candidate will partner the Account Managers, Specialist Solutions Architects and Professional Services teams to focus on IoT and AI/ML technologies in exploring the art of the possible, build flagship wins and engage our partner community to build a portfolio for smart solutions
Public Sector customers are looking for references and blueprints to implement innovative Smart City solutions and accelerate digital transformation. These solutions can be complex and require more expertise than AWS provides alone. Partners are critical to providing these solutions to customers. Hardware partners (silicon, OEM), connectivity providers (mobile operators), implementation partners (SIs) and technology partners (ISVs) often converge to solution a business problem. The edge is critical because of these workloads and the myriad of edge devices that make up our customers operations - sensors, gateways and controllers. Customers are also looking for Machine Learning, Voice and Image Recognition, Analytics, App Development and AI to be a part of the solution as well.
The candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in software/technology sales or consulting, have business acumen and be effective in communicating the value of technology in fulfilling digital transformation missions. The BDM will be an exceptionally strong analytical thinker who likely has IT sales experience with a major vendor in the IT market and embraces all aspects of solution selling.
Roles & Responsibilities
. Build The Go-To-Market Strategy, Plan and Sales Programs to support Smart Nation initiatives in ASEAN. Create and articulate compelling value propositions around AWS services
. Execute the strategic business development plan while working with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. sales teams, service teams, legal, support, partners, smart device manufacturers etc.).
. Develop Lighthouse Customers and build core Partners for the program. Build a strong pipeline of customers who are working in key areas of digital transformation and create lighthouse wins.
. Assist customer in identifying use cases for priority adoption of Amazon Web Services as well as best practices implementations.
. Work with partners to develop pipelines and amplify their efforts related to Smart City
. Establish thought leadership through whitepapers, presentations, demos, blog posts, and reference architectures
. 10-15 years plus experience in a world class technology companies selling and managing a sales software, hardware or services company.
. 5 plus years experience in public sector with a proven background in building/developing Smart City solutions.
. Self-motivated, result-oriented with an ability to build a plan and make things happen, while upholding integrity
. Natural sales person with an ability to influence a broad virtual team.
. Excellent spoken and written communication and presentation skills.
. Bachelor degree required MBA a plus
. Experience selling to Public Sector customers across ASEAN
