Job Description

  • Attend morning trackwork to gain understanding of horse performance, conduct and film interviews with respective Owners, Trainers, Jockeys and Track Riders for program usage.
  • Check all prepared program materials and information (trackwork, pastruns, typography etc) to ensure accuracy and zero mistakes prior to ‘live' recording. Coordinate with Producers and the Studio Team to present and host the weekly pre-race programs recording.
  • Research past runs of horses, background information of owners, trainers and jockeys and information preparation for program production including developing good working relationships with trainers, jockeys, racing journalists, stipendiary staff and the press.
  • Host Club functions as and when required including background research of event and participation in event meetings and rehearsals where necessary.
  • Write and publish race analysis for the week's races on website.
  • Understanding of horse forms to comment, present and race call Singapore race meetings with accuracy.
  • Conduct pre-race analysis / interviews and post-race interviews 'live' or recorded, with racing connections during Singapore race meetings.

  • Diploma in Sports Journalism / Mass Communication or related.
  • Minimum 6 years of related experience in horse racing programs / productions / scripting / commentary / race calling or related.
  • Extensive production knowledge of 'live' to camera studio recording, outdoor filming and television production.
  • Familiarity with racing language and adapting local context.
  • Knowledge of television presentation skills and displays on-camera presence.
  • Race commentary with good voice and clear diction and pronunciation.
