Job Description

The BASF Shared Services Center Kuala Lumpur was established in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, it has approximately 700 employees and provides functional services in the areas of Finance, Controlling, Information Services, Human Resources, Environment, Health & Safety, Procurement, and Import-Export Order Management to BASF companies and affiliates in 17 markets across Asia Pacific. BASF also has three other Shared Service Centers that cover Europe and the Americas, located in Berlin and Ludwigshafen, Germany, and Montevideo, Uruguay.
Objectives of the Position
  • Manage Learning and Development topics in Asia Pacific and deliver L&D solutions in Asia Pacific

Main Tasks
Global L&D topics
  • Connect with the L&D Community and COH to transplant the latest development of concepts and tools to Asia Pacific
  • Customize the concepts and tools to the context of Asia Pacific where necessary and manage the roll out in the region
  • Collaborate with various stakeholder groups in the region and support them to apply the global tools to support their business needs

Deliver Learning and Talent Development in Asia Pacific:
  • Work with the stakeholders and service recipient to deliver Learning and Talent Development solutions as required
  • Manage and promote online learning resources

Talent development process and initiatives
  • Manage processes related to the regional talent program (i.e. LEADx)
  • Manage and support the roll out of LEADx development programs (e.g. welcome event, DC, learning modules, co-creation team etc.)
  • Manage and support internal candidate search

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Business, HR Management or related discipline
  • Working Experience: Minimum 7 years of work experience related to talent management, learning and development and/or organizational development, combined with a strong execution and project management skill
  • Technical & Professional Knowledge:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication, facilitation and presentation skills
    • Consultative in approach; has a point of view but is open to others’ ideas; strong drive for results and collaborate with others to get things done
    • Exhibits drive to identify improvement areas and solutions to the problem through bringing in external perspectives and previous experiences; shows persistence and identify the best options to implement the changes even when there are obstacles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially in Excel and PowerPoint
