Job Description :
A Research Associate position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute - Residues and Resource Reclamation Centre (NEWRI-R3C).
Job Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to a research team working in the following areas: Syngas purification – materials and processes for syngas upgrading; Syngas utilization – fuel cells and gas engine

  • Ensure the development of strong technical expertise in these domains within the team

  • Assist in system design, engineering evaluation, energy/mass balance analysis, cost and benefit analysis

  • Prepare research proposals, publications, and technology disclosures

Job Requirements

  • Master degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field

  • Candidates with a Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a related field may be considered for a Research Assistant position

  • Previous R&D or work experience on gas / air treatment would be an advantage

  • Experiences with system engineering, process modelling and optimization, technology prototyping, materials synthesis, characterization and applications would be an advantage

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Good writing and communication skills

  • Excellent teamwork awareness

  • Experienced in preparation of research reports
