Job Description

Job Description :

A Research Fellow position is available in the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
Job Responsibilities
The Research Fellow will work on a project to utilize the nanophotonics for optical metrology applications.
The roles of this position include:

  • Build the model of nanostructures (closed to semiconductor IC chips)

  • Simulate the optical properties (transmission, reflection or scattering spectra) of the structure by commercially available tool such as COMSOL or Lumerical etc

  • Varying the parameters of the structure to build the library of the optical properties and a function of parameter space

  • Utilizing pattern searching algorithm, or machine learning to find the structure's parameters from experimental measurement data and library

  • Optimizing the parameter space to reduce the library and improve the performance of the algorithm

Job Requirements

  • PhD degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering(EEE), Physics, Optics, Photonics, Nanophotonics

  • Excellent in computational software for nanophotonics simulations such as COMSOL or Lumerical

  • Experience with lab experiments or industrial characterizations in optics and optical system is a plus

  • Teamwork oriented with motivation and desire to learn new domain knowledge is preferred
